Working from home is a very rewarding experience. It allows you to be in total control of almost every facet of your day. You may not have total control of the projects that you are working on, but at least you get to decide which projects that you take.
If you’re like me, you love to get up in the morning start the day off with a big bowel of cereal and then dive right at the computer and get started on work. The beauty of working from home is that you don’t have to start working right away either. The flexibility of the job is outstanding.
Some people I know prefer to work later in the day and have more of the outside, fun activities during the morning and mid-afternoon. One person will only work in his favorite recliner with the laptop on his lap and the television just in view over top of his computer screen. Now how does working from home sound to you?
It’s not all fun and games though, (even though I’ve painted it out to be). There are times when you are not sure where the work is going to be coming from next week and I really wouldn’t suggest this line of work unless your comfortable calling up complete strangers and asking them to buy your product or services.
Having said that, however, it is possible to make a great living by only being marginal at calling people and introducing them to what you do. Working from home also allows you the time to train yourself on all the little assets you need to make it work. Read a book on cold calling if you have too. You’ve got the time now that you’re working from home.
Think hard about why you want to work from home and if you really have it in you to do this. If you think you do, and you know you can get yourself to do things that you don’t always want to do, then you should be just fine and make a comfortable living working from home.
